BORN HULL 1888. SON OF GEORGE WILLIAM HENRY FEATHERSTONE & JANET FEATHERSTONE, OF 14 NORNABELL STREET. AN OIL MILLER. HIS WIFE MARY FEATHERSTONE LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS AND 1 OXFORD TERRACE, HODGSON STREET (ARMY ADDRESS). HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 10/11/1914. HIS ARMY RECORDS DESCRIBE HIM AS 5 FOOT 8.5 INCHES TALL, 37 INCH CHEST, “SOBER AND RELIABLE”. SERVED WITH THE EAST RIDING ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. DISCHARGED ON 25/08/1916, WITH CHRONIC BRONCHITIS, AGED 25 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS. DIED ON 18/06/1918, AGED 28. HE IS BURIED AT HULL’S, HEDON ROAD CEMETERY.
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, CHARLES WILLIAM FEATHERSONE, 1ST EYR, WAS KILLED AT THE SOMME ON 01/07/1916.
